Privacy Policy

How eChart Australia handles personal information collected through this website and our business enquiries.

Important distinction: this policy covers eChart Australia’s website, sales, support and business relationships. Health services using the eChart clinical platform generally control the patient information entered into their own system. Requests about a clinical record should first be directed to the relevant healthcare provider.

1. Scope

eChart (trading as NurseIT) respects privacy and aims to handle personal information consistently with applicable Australian privacy law, including the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and the choices available to you.

2. Information we collect

We may collect business contact details and information you provide when requesting a demonstration, asking for support, discussing procurement, applying to work with us or otherwise contacting eChart. This may include your name, role, organisation, work email, telephone number and the contents of your enquiry.

Our website and hosting providers may also process routine technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security events required to deliver and protect the site. Please do not submit patient information or other sensitive clinical content through website enquiry channels.

3. How we use information

  • Responding to enquiries and arranging demonstrations.
  • Providing customer support and administering business relationships.
  • Improving, operating and securing our website and services.
  • Meeting legal, regulatory, insurance and record-keeping obligations.
  • Sending relevant business communications where permitted, with an option to opt out.

4. Disclosure and service providers

We may share information with personnel and contracted providers who need it to host, secure, support or administer our services, and with professional advisers or authorities where lawfully required. We do not sell personal information. Where a provider may process information outside Australia, the applicable arrangement and safeguards depend on the service and customer deployment.

5. Security and retention

We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and service involved. No internet service can promise absolute security. We retain information only while it is reasonably required for the purpose collected, contractual needs, dispute resolution, security, or applicable law, then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.

6. Access, correction and choices

You may ask us to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or opt out of non-essential communications. We may need to verify your identity and may decline a request where permitted by law. For patient records held by a healthcare organisation, contact that organisation directly.

7. Questions and complaints

Contact support@echart.com.au with “Privacy enquiry” in the subject. Please do not include patient information in your first message. We will review concerns and respond within a reasonable time. If you remain dissatisfied, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

8. Changes

We may update this policy when our practices, services or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current website version.
